NOWHERE TO HIDE by Lindsay McKenna Book 1, Delos Series

Lia Cassidy left the Army scarred physically and emotionally after a vicious attack by two fellow soldiers. She turns to helping others, working at a Delos Home School Charity in Costa Rica that aids abused women and children. But when the deadly drug lord, La Arana, attacks the school, Lia finds herself on the run for her life. The only person she can trust is the ex-SEAL sent to protect her.

Cav Jordan is strong, honorable and gorgeous…and intrigued by Lia. He knows she has suffered pain in her past, and he is determined to break through her barriers and earn her trust. But as Cav slowly chips away at the walls Lia has built, ghosts from her past threaten to destroy their fragile relationship.

ALOHA TEXAS by Chris Keniston Book 1, Aloha Series

Former navy diver Nicholas Harper likes his new world as captain of a dive boat in Hawaii.

Powerhouse attorney Kara Lynn O’Conner’s world revolves around her small Texas town where life is easy and safe.

Six year old Bradley Cooper is about to change everything.

PROTECTING CAROLINE by Susan Stoker Book 1, SEAL of Protection Series

Matthew “Wolf” Steel hated flying commercial. Luckily his job as a Navy SEAL meant he didn’t have to do it very often. He’d been unlucky enough to be assigned a middle seat on the cramped jet, but fortunately for him, the woman next to him was willing to switch seats with him. Hoping for a relaxing flight, Wolf was pleasantly surprised at the good conversation and sense of humor the woman had as they flew 36,000 feet over the countryside.

When Caroline boarded the plane to Virginia to move across the country for her new job she never expected to be seated next to the hottest guy she’d ever seen. She also never expected he’d be so easy to talk to. She knew he’d never be interested in talking to her if he hadn’t been trapped in the seat next to her, but it was a nice way to spend a long plane ride.

Neither Wolf nor Caroline were prepared for a terrorist hijacking of their plane, but if Caroline thought that would be the last time she’d see, or need, Wolf, she’d be sorely mistaken.

From ALOHA TEXAS by Chris Keniston

Holy shit. Nick backed away from the bed until he bumped the wall behind him, his gaze steady on the frail, unconscious woman he’d once loved with everything in him. She wouldn’t have done that to him. It was one thing to walk away, but to take his son? Son.

“No,” he mumbled. “No.” Pushed by a silent force, he turned on his heel and bolted out the door. In the hall, his gaze darted from side to side. He needed answers. Now. Just ahead he spotted the sign for the waiting room. The lawyer. She’d know.

With every step his pace quickened until he was practically running down the last strip of hallway. Gripping the frame with one hand, he flung himself through the door and skidded to a stop. A woman, maybe fiftyish with salt-and-pepper hair, wearing a dark suit, sat with her hands folded in her lap. Beside her, Kara read to a little boy.

Nick studied the child with as much neutrality as he could muster. He didn’t have a whole lot of experience with little boys. Well, make that any experience, but still if he had to guess, he’d say the kid was maybe four or five years old. Five. If the boy were his, he’d be five. From where Nick stood, he saw a cute little kid with a mop of curly dark hair enjoying the story. The scene could have been any mother and son. Only he’d bet the Kona Queen this wasn’t Kara’s son. He was Patty Ann’s. And maybe his.

As questions of how and why circled in his head, he forced himself to remain silent, to wait for the end of the story, for the small child to raise his face so Nick could see. And then what? If paternity could be pegged at a glance, there’d be no need for DNA. Finally, Kara said the waited words, the end, and the little boy gleefully looked up at the woman and asked, “Now can I see Mommy?”

Five words and Nick felt the vise around his heart tighten another notch. Patty Ann had been his lover, his friend, his heartbreak, but she was this little boy’s mommy.

He took a step forward, and all eyes in the room turned to him. Someone might as well have sucker punched him in the solar plexis. Crystal blue eyes stared up at him. The same eyes he looked at every day in the mirror.

“My God,” he breathed.

There’d be no need for DNA. Anyone who had ever seen a photograph of Nick as a small child would swear in a court of law that this was the same boy.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: The Misbehaved by Jessica Jayne

The Misbehaved Cover

The Misbehaved
by Jessica Jayne
Releasing May 10, 2016
Totally Bound

About The Misbehaved

Natalea Jones has had a rough life. An absentee father. A gambling addicted mother, who seems to show up only when she needs something—preferably money. Natalea survives her childhood and teenage years because of her best friend, Drake Harte, and his family. Even though she’s been in love with Drake for years, she refuses to let her lust come in the way of their friendship. Life without Drake is not possible and sex would certainly complicate things.

Drake Harte is not only known as the most eligible bachelor and firefighter in Gamble Park, Florida, but he’s also known for sexing the ladies and leaving them. Only he knows the reason he can’t make a commitment to the women throwing themselves at him—he’s in love with his best friend. It’s time he either goes for it or moves on.

After Natalea and Drake share a night of passion, an unexpected event occurs that proves to both of them that life—and love—are too precious.

Or what? Was his firecracker of a best friend challenging him? He may have gotten off his twenty-four-hour shift at the firehouse mere minutes ago, but he was always ready to rumble with Natalea. Her honey-colored eyes gleamed with the familiar twinkle she had every single time they provoked each other. She loved it as much as he did.

He loved everything about her. She was a whole lot wrapped up in a five-foot-three package. She was beautiful—beautiful in a way that wasn’t cover model, but real. Sweet. Caring. Honest. Strong. Stronger than anyone he knew. Her life hadn’t been easy.

He exhaled a laugh before dropping the towel and placing his hands on the bar top. Having spent as much time as he had in The Misbehaved, he knew exactly how much space he had to clear before he’d be on the ground on the other side. He pushed off with his feet on the stool rungs and slammed it to the ground with a bang as he propelled himself over. He landed with a thud on the black rubber floor mat. Heads swiveled in their direction.

Natalea yelped and dropped the towel. She spun on her heels and dashed to get away from him. He swung his arm around her waist and jerked her flush against him. The feel of her softness against the rigid planes of his body made a groan bubble up in his chest. He bit it off.

He hoisted her over his shoulder and wandered out onto the floor. Her lush breasts pressed against him and made his cock twitch to life in his jeans. Her legs flailed in the air, her black work boots thudding against his abdomen. She may have been small, but she was mighty. He’d give her that. As the thought entered his mind, her teeth sank into his lower back muscles through his T-shirt.

“Ow,” he cried, surprised by her bite. “Watch it, baby girl. You know better than to walk this tough-girl path with me. It never ends well for you.”

She grunted and groaned at his words. Several of the male patrons hooted and hollered.

“Nice legs,” one of the guys standing by the pool table shouted. A few whistles followed and Drake realized what the fuss was about. Her already scant jean shorts had ridden up her legs, exposing all of her thighs, maybe more. Despite the crowd being predominantly female, the few males made themselves quite vocal.

A wave of possessiveness flowed over him. He didn’t like that the guys were gawking at her ass poised in the air, and at her tan, muscular legs draped over his shoulder. Legs he’d fantasized about encircling his hips as he buried himself inside her. That fantasy had recurred on numerous occasions over the last decade.

Yes, he pined after his best friend. Had for years. Whenever she was around, he popped a perpetual boner. He also needed to protect her, which pretty much ruined any chance she had for a relationship with anyone else. No one—and he meant no one—was good enough for her.

Release Blast & Giveaway: Atone by Beth Yarnall

Recovered Innocence #2
by Beth Yarnall
Releasing February 23, 2016

About Atone

Beth Yarnall’s sexy and emotional Recovered Innocence series continues as two broken souls discover that keeping their hands off each other is even harder than facing their demons.

Beau: Six years. That’s how long I spent behind bars for a crime I didn’t commit—the murder of the woman I loved. Now I’m free, but life on the outside is a different kind of prison. I don’t know who I am or who I want to be. At least I have my sister, Cora. She never stopped believing in me. She even got me a job at the private investigation agency that cleared my name. And then Vera Swain walks into Nash Security and Investigations and kicks my world on its ass.

Vera: There’s only one thing that would make me come out of hiding after two years on the run: finding my sister. I made the mistake of telling a monster about her, the same monster who beat me and broke me. Now I’m forced to confide in Beau Hollis of Nash Security and Investigations. He looks at me like he knows me—the real me. He sees too much, makes me feel too much. The pleasure he offers is exciting and addictive. But I can’t fall for him . . . because my love could get us both killed.

Cora goes through the photos of Vera’s sister, Marie. “What do you think of Vera’s story?”

“What do you mean?”

“You have a pretty accurate bullshit detector.”

“So do you.”

“Yup, and I’m asking you what you think.”

I drop into my chair and put a hand out for the papers and pics. She gives them to me and I leaf through them slowly, studying each one, practically memorizing them. Vera’s handwriting is precise. All of the letters are the same at the bottom, like she used a ruler to keep them in perfect line. If I’d ever taken a handwriting analysis course I could probably tell a lot about her from her scrawl. Control. Vera wants and needs control. I got that much from meeting her. The meticulousness of her lettering confirms it, but while she tries to keep her writing neat, it swirls unexpectedly, slipping past that control. I’m going to have to Google what that means.

“Well?” Cora’s impatient for my answer.

“I don’t think it’s bullshit, but I also think she didn’t tell us everything she knows.”

She nods, confirming her own suspicions. “Do you really think that’s her sister?”

“Yeah. I do.” Vera had a strong emotional reaction to the photos of Marie. They’re connected for sure.

“Well, I guess it’s time to find out if our hunches about her are correct or not.”

“What do you mean?”

“We run background checks on all of our potential clients. They ran one on me when I first came to them about you.”

“You’re kidding.”

“Nope. We need to make sure she’s on the up and up and that we’re not putting the person she’s looking for in any potential danger. Abusive husbands sometimes use PIs to find their wives. We want to make sure we’re not setting this Marie up to be victimized.”

“I don’t think—”

“She might not be who she says she is. She might’ve come here helping someone else out. She seems harmless, but you never know. We have to be sure. I want you to run a background check on her. We need to know that Vera’s legit and that we’re not putting this girl in harm’s way.”

I glance up at my sister. She’s serious. Vera didn’t strike me as someone who would purposefully hurt someone else, not when she’s been so badly damaged. Taking on this task would give me the opportunity to learn more about Vera, and that’s something I definitely want to do. But it also feels like a betrayal. I know what it’s like for people to know everything about me without actually knowing me. I’d essentially be doing the same to Vera.

“I don’t know.”

“It’ll have to be done whether you do it or not. Please. I could really use your help.”

I can’t say no to Cora. She could ask me to cut off my right leg and I’d do it. She’s done more for me than I could ever repay.

“Leo’s coming down today,” she adds. “He can help you.”

She’s tamping down her excitement, but I see it in the smile that won’t be confined. Her boyfriend coming down to visit from UCLA means I’ll be sleeping with pillows piled on my head tonight. I don’t mind. Much. Leo makes my sister happy, and that’s pretty much all I need to know about him. If it weren’t for him taking on my case and helping Cora get trained in private investigation, I’d still be sitting in a cell and Cora would still be spending all her time and money trying to get me free. I like the guy, but it’s part of my job as Cora’s big brother to make sure he does right by her.

“You can do this,” she says, correctly reading one of the reasons for my reluctance. “It’s easy.”

Cora’s faith in my Internet searching skills is out of proportion with the couple hours I spent today learning how to do it. And as much as I don’t want to pry into Vera’s background, I also don’t want anyone else to do it.

“Okay.” All my reasoning doesn’t make me feel less shitty about what I’m going to do.

“We could use some help around the office. I was thinking of asking Mr. Nash about hiring you on . . . if you’re interested.”

“So I can terrorize Savannah permanently instead of temporarily?”

“You don’t terrorize her.”

I lift my eyebrows in response.

“She might be a bit nervous around you,” she concedes. “She’ll get over it.”

“In the meantime, I’ll have to learn to ignore her flinches and suppressed screams?”

“I’ll get Leo to talk to her.”

“Thanks for the job offer, but no, thanks.”

“I could really use the help.”

What she doesn’t say is that I need a job so I can move out of her small garage apartment and get a place of my own. She’d never kick me out, but with Leo coming for a visit, her six-hundred-square-foot studio is about to get very, very crowded. Since no one else has been interested in hiring me, this potential office job could be the start of an employment record I can build on. I need a job and money. What I don’t need is a reminder of my past every time Savannah squeaks like a mouse caught in a trap.

“This isn’t some bullshit charity offer, is it?”

“No. Mr. Nash isn’t in the office as much as he used to be. He’s trying out semi-retirement so we’re a man short. I really do need the help. What do you say?” She’s not lying. I’d know it if she was.

“You really think I’ll be any good at this investigation stuff?”

“Yeah, I do. You caught on pretty quickly, and the rest isn’t hard. Basically, all it takes is tenacity, and I know you have that in spades. Start here. See where it goes. If you don’t like the work, you can always quit. I won’t hold it against you, and neither would Mr. Nash.” She puts her hand on mine to stop my drumming fingers. “You have to start somewhere, Beau. It might as well be here.” Her voice is quiet yet pleading.

I know my inability to figure my shit out worries her and I can’t keep disappointing her. She’d tell me I’m not, but I know I am. I’m disappointing myself. She’s right. I have to start somewhere. I have to find something that makes me want to get out of bed in the morning. Maybe this is it. At the very least, maybe this job will help me figure out where to go next.

“Let me talk to Savannah before you go to Mr. Nash,” I tell her.

“Okay.” She does a little bounce in her chair, her lips curling inward like she’s trying to suppress a grin.

I wish she wasn’t so excited. If I can’t get Savannah to stop looking at me like I’ll jump her, this whole conversation is a waste and so is Cora’s enthusiasm.

Review: Prosecco & Paparazzi (The Passport Book 1) by Celia Kennedy

About Prosecco & Paparazzi

When fifteen minutes of fame goes horribly wrong…

Charlotte Young and her five closest friends ring in the New Year on a ski vacation in the swanky, celebrity-packed French Alps, where her world collides with long-time celeb crush, Des Bannerman—aka “The King of Rom-Com.” Unexpectedly, Charlotte finds herself happily reconciled to an innocent evening of drinking champagne, gambling, and chatting to the celebrity of her dreams.

Charlotte’s friends join forces to help her realize her lifelong fantasy, yet his girlfriend, the latest Bond Girl, proves an insurmountable obstacle. Lighthearted banter turns into tabloid fodder and leaves Charlotte saddled with a restraining order.

With the help of her friends, Charlotte finds the answers to life’s biggest questions while trying to deal with the fallout of her fifteen minutes of fame.

Prosecco &Paparazzi is a contemporary romantic comedy about what happens when the paths of a celebrity god and a mere mortal collide.

My Review

“But let me ask you, if you had the chance to meet someone you had a crush on, what would you do?”

Fun read with a specific serious scenario appropriately placed rounding off the charming reading adventure. I enjoyed the jet setting, girl time, the celebrity crush encounter along with the huge misunderstanding leading to lots of fallout. Took me a while to warm up to the characters, in the end, room temperature at best. Charlotte grated on my nerves at times, her attitude was hard to take in large doses. Other times she earned my empathy, fair to say she was frustrating. Des, a pompous ass, archetypical celebrity with mega ego. The motley girl crew was entertaining, varying personalities and idiosyncrasies kept the plot charging along. Perfect amount of love, humor and strife with a fabulous ending. Prelude of what appears to be a great series.

About Celia Kennedy6965584

Celia Kennedy was born in Wurzburg, Germany on an American military base. Her parents’ penchant for traveling the world, via a Volkswagen Minibus with a Porsche engine, sparked her imagination. Staring out the window, sometimes through fog and rain, at other times at sunny blue skies, she began to make up stories for the places and spaces they passed by. The in-between time, the most fascinating to her.

The imagined world has always fascinated Celia. She has studied Landscape
Architecture, Architecture, Interior Design, and pretty much every other subject matter. Like her childhood, it was the ride that was the most entertaining, arrival at a degree, not anywhere as important.

Mark Twain said, “Write what you know.” When combining this concept with her unusual life experiences (working at a nuclear submarine base when Chernobyl blew, testing software Bill Gates kept close tabs on, travelling extensively while quite broke, or falling in love with her boyfriend’s close friend) thinking of what to write about isn’t challenging; there just needs to be more hours in the day.

Currently she is working on a full-length novel, Cognac & Couture, Book Two, The Passport Series, and What We See, We Know

Brothers of Mayhem #1
by Carla Swafford
Releasing February 16, 2016

About Hidden Heat

Sizzling with passion and suspense, perfect for fans of Joanna Wylde and Julie Ann Walker, the Brothers of Mayhem series revs up as a headstrong beauty faces off against an outlaw motorcycle club—and falls for the bad boy she never saw coming.

Cassidy Ryder refuses to be intimidated by anyone, even the hell-raising, hard-drinking Brothers of Mayhem. The daughter of their former president, she’s not above smashing a few heads to keep her teenage brother safe. But when Cassidy’s big mouth gets her in trouble, the only thing that saves her is some quick thinking from the Brothers’ bartender. He’s commanding and strong, and as smooth as the whiskey he pours: the ultimate temptation for a girl who swore she’d never be a biker’s plaything.

But Thorn Savalas is no ordinary biker. He’s a cop, and he’s worked too hard earning the Brothers’ trust to blow his cover over a female—even one who rocks a pair of jeans like Cassidy. The only way to protect her is by claiming she’s his old lady. Trouble is, Thorn can’t just pretend. He wants Cassidy, and every scorching touch tells him she feels the same. But acting on their hottest fantasies could leave them both exposed . . . even if nothing else has ever felt so real.

“Listen, sugar, I’ll tell you about your brother, but you need to keep your mouth shut.”

“What is it about you people? I can say whatever I like. This is a free country.”

He let his disappointment show on his face. “You’re smarter than you’re acting.”

“I’m smart enough to know—”

He slapped the wall, frustrated that he couldn’t make her understand. She straightened, face pale and eyes wide open. That got her attention.

“For Christ’s sake, listen to me before you get us both killed,” he said, grinding his back teeth in impatience. She finally closed her mouth. “Storm is running an errand for Stonewall. And no, I can’t tell you more than that. I’m taking a chance as it is. He should be back by midnight and then I’ll tell him to call you.” Finally, in control of his body, he walked around the desk and grabbed her arm, wanting to emphasize the danger she was in. He leaned down. “Go home,” he whispered.

Her eyes searched his. Probably trying to guess his game. All he wanted to do was keep her safe, but she refused to believe it. For now, they had one more problem: how was he going to explain to the club about their time alone in the office?

He had only one solution.

Moving a little closer, he added, “Before you head home, you need to look like we went at it hot and heavy back here.”

“What?” She took a step back, confusion on her face as she glanced around.

“There is only one reason for a Mayhem Brother to take a female in the back office, and that’s to fuck her. Unless you want me to do it for real, you need to look the part.”

“Huh?” She frowned. Why was she having such a difficult time imagining anyone wanting her in that way?

Had no one ever come on to her? Were the bastards around there blind? He sighed and then tightened his grip on her arm.

Guessing she would learn the hard way, he kissed her. Admittedly, he’d wanted to do that since the first time his gaze ate her up. All round curves in the right places, she looked like a sex doll come to life. He’d tried to stay away from her, but this opportunity was too good to pass up.

For a split second, she pushed against his chest and then her arms slid around his neck. He cupped her full breasts and pinched her nipples. She groaned in his mouth. Without wasting time, he pulled at her tee, twisting it slightly, and pressed her back against the wall. His hand ran across her stomach, flipping the snap open on her jeans with his thumb. She smelled so good, a mixture of healthy woman and a hint of flowers. Her mussed hair from earlier was no match for his fingers running through the soft strands again. She groaned and arched into him. Damn, she was deliciously responsive.

His willpower neared the breaking point and he let her go. He walked stiff legged to the door and peeked out. All clear. One deep intake of musty air, he braced for what he’d see. Rumpled and dazed, she appeared well fucked. He bit the inside of his mouth to stop from groaning in regret. What he’d give for it to be true.
